Alright it is the new year and it’s time again to begin a diet. Which one will it be? I am seeking earnestly for the right one. Last year me and the other fat guy tried some interesting ones. Tune it–this might get interesting! By the way C Dawg, we need to freshen up the site and get some pics up.

Still fat…

It has been a while since I posted on this site. A lot has happened in my life, but what hasn’t changed much is my weight. I haven’t gotten a whole lot fatter, nor have I lost much weight. I guess that is why I was intrigued by the Tony Orlando commercial for Nutri-system. Wow! He has lost over 100 lbs. Of course, I could probably lose weight too if all my food was pre-planned and shipped to me. Ah well, still fat, but thinking about it.

I have some news for the weight loss industry. Dieting doesn’t work. I lost ten pounds, gained 13 pounds, and now I have dropped about 7 pounds. How did I drop the last 7 pounds, you ask? I dropped it by not having enough money to buy a combo mean at the fast food restaurant over the past three weeks. I have had to order off the $1.00 for my lunch. Two items are $2.16 in California, that includes the sales tax. So just checking in, wanted you to know, still fat :)

Typical Fat Men

Yeah, I guess we fit the typical fat men who begin dieting with great intentions but then fail to see it through to the end. Well we are still in this thing! (We really don’t have a choice, we are still fat) We still need to keep pressing forward to live a life that is healthy and filled with exercise. One great thing that has come from all of this is that I have overcome the addiction to Pepsi. This was a huge thing for me and I truly believe the first step in getting on the right track. So let’s keep on– keeping on. Charlie thanks for the courage to break free!

Stopping or ?

Well, I think we all have stopped dieting. Tom had a diabetic scare, turned out to be a false alarm. His doctor suggested that he can solve all of his problems with healthy diet and exercise. No kidding, Sherlock! I don’t think I will be paying a doctor for that wisdom. I thought I might try exercising a few weeks ago, and I even did it once. I suppose it takes more than one time? Ah well, so goes the struggle…

Help!

Something has to change, no really…but I found out that maybe I have a germ that is causing me to be fat! Great, huh? They are working on an antibiotic. In the meantime they suggest a healthy diet and regular exercise. Gee, thanks…

Well sounds like my counterpart is starting something new…exercising–way to go Charlie! I woke up today and realized I’m still fat, LOL. We have been on this journey now since February and none of us are really looking any better. I NEED SOME WILLPOWER. Not sure where to get it, or what books are available on the topic, but it seems that my will power needs the workout. I can’t seem to pass up the invitation to eat sweets or pastas, let alone the urge to drink a soda. I know I need to join weight watchers and a gym and will do so as soon as some money becomes available—wait a minute even that is a copout huh? What is it with fat people? None of us have will power to engage change even when our health and longivity of life is at stake? So does anyone have any great ideas on how to boost the will power in each of us?

Fox-Out

Tom’s doctor told him that this whole concept, trying out diets, etc. was a very bad idea. I agree with him! Diets are a bad idea period. So here’s a plan, today I exercised! Yikes! I walked on a treadmill and I lifted some weights. Considering my delicate condition my 20-minute workout was a good start. I want to get a copy of that book by the guy who says that cardio doesn’t work. I am going to use it as a pillow for the rest of the day as I recover from my exhaustive workout…

Skinny next to ….?

SkinnyPastor and Chris ElrodFrom the bloggers roundtable at the National Church Planter’s Convention in Orlando last week, the tall skinny pastor-apostle Andrew Jones, sits next to my good friend Chris Elrod. I lifted the picture from Chris’ website! Hope you don’t mind, Chris! :)

The weight-loss struggle continues. Now, I think the scale is telling me I have gained back a few of the pounds I have lost! Yikes! This is really no good, very bad…Random thoughts cross my mind: Did you see the TV news report from the guy who says that cardio exercise doesn’t do any good for weight loss, he recommends weight lifting instead. Since I haven’t been doing either one, I can say with authority that I have no idea which is better. Now that Valerie Bertinelli is getting paid lots of money to hawk Jenny Craig, I am tempted to join a program where they sell you all the food you are supposed to eat. That sure sounds like a good way to go. My pal Tom’s doctor suggested he try Weight Watchers. Apparently he wasn’t impressed with the "Two weeks to an Amazing Body" regimen that Tom had tried.  Ah well, this is the struggle of a fat pastor!
